How to work with AI
Working with AI is a set of habits. What you paste, what you check, and what you never send matter more than the model name.
This is the practical pass for people who already have a chat window open. The tips match the work on your desk, not a general lecture.
When it fits
- People use a chat window every day, without shared rules.
- Nobody is sure what may be pasted into a prompt.
- Answers are used without being checked against the code.
How the work goes
- We practice on a real task from the team: a diff, a support reply, a query.
- Prompts include the constraint, an example, and the format you want back.
- We agree on what never goes into a prompt: customer data, secrets, and code you cannot share.
- The result is written on one page, in the team's own words.
Example: pick a habit
Daily use
Three habits cover most of the daily use. Pick one.
What you receive
- A one-page guide in the team's own words
- Example prompts taken from your work, not from a blog
- A clear line for data that must not go into a prompt
